Well, I guess there's always gonna be a bad experienced (although I had plenty good ones buying from Prowler folks).

@ the other place, I was first to offer to swap an orange car cover for a bumper removal kit. Even helped researched for the seller the model of the kit as he had no idea what he was selling. We agreed to do it and brought the cover to the post office to be weighed, get custom forms (since its going to europe).

Got an email today that it has been sold to someone (name withheld) else. Must have been easier after finding out which model kit it was.
Not even a courtesy to say another deal is in the works.

I understand trying to get the max value out of something (go ebay!), but on classified, and with prowler club members, u figured there'll be some integrity on sales. Maybe I'm expecting too much cuz the folks here are a great bunch to hang with..shouldn't expect the same for everyone that comes along...

That's my rant for today...thanks for reading..

I'll be honest with you guys...I would rather sell off anything Prowler related that I happen to have to a fellow Prowler enthusiast. :tu:

Screw the extra money that I could get on EBAY. I really don't have the extra money to be saying this but I would rather see a potential friend benefit with what I have...and they need... versus a guy that just has deep pockets.

Case in point...The Barrett Jackson Auction. :x

Sorry to hear what happened to you DC.

sorry to hear that....

I had the same thing happen with a set of wheels....I spoke up first, asked for the first shot at buying them when they were going to go for sale and found out 2 weeks later they were sold to someone else.... no sorry, no excuse....

Thanks for the support everyone.

I agree, I always post stuff for sale on here or other site, and if no one's interested, then it goes on ebay. In fact, I always list it much lower for Prowler folks.

u win some, u lose some I guess..

let me ask this question:

If I had some items to sell.....(and I do)

what would be the fairest way to offer them for sale ?

1) post the ad at the price you would like at the first person to contact you gets it ?

2) offer it for bids up to a certain time and sell it to thee highest bidder ?

3) sell it on ebay so nobody has hard feelings ?

4) try to sell it "over there" and risk the humiliation of being criticized for wanting a fair price or possibly selling it to those that scoop up everything, then seeing it go on ebay for double the price next week.

what do you all think?

Dreamcast18

Here's what I would do:

1. Post it HERE. (listing of price is optional, folks here don't get into the habit of dissing classifieds, and I don't think the 'ebay resellers' are here)

2. Post it THERE. (Don't list a price, ask for best offers)

3. Give it 2 weeks, if still unsold, put it on Ebay.

just my 0.02

p.s. Plus everyone knows who the 'ebay resellers' are (I got scooped by one), so you can opt not to sell it to them.

When RadCatRich posted several of the items he had up for sale...that's just what he did.

The first one to post on the open forum that they wanted that particular item...for that price...got it!!!

IMO...that is the fairest way...if you're not looking for the biggest bang for your buck on EBAY.

Jim, I want first dibs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have PM. Checks in the mail. Free shipping right?

I don't have any money but you can ship it and I'll pay you payments, OK?

OOOPs you didn't post anything yet, LOL. :rll:

Just getting some lines ready so all I need to do is copy and paste!

Seriously, I think post at this site first with amount wanted. First to post a response of intent to purchase gets it, if that falls through you go to the next poster. Also, one item for sale per thread to keep it simple. After this site then maybe the other and then Ebay.

PS. (for Jim to read only) let me know in a pm what you've got first and keep it hush hush, OK? :rll:

I think it depends on your financial situation. If you can afford it, offering it to friends at a fair price as first option, followed by Ebay at a higher price as follow up would be the best scenario.

2.3 mil for that cheese though ... ??? Just glad I don't need that banner

DC, Notice how he hasn't been reamed out by all his fellow star carrying pals, but if the deal went down like this the opposite way they all would be in there like a shark feeding frenzy.

Typical and very obvious on this one.

Totally!
What can I say? I don't have a 'star' there.... :? And i won't 'pay' to buy any 'friends'.

On a side note to Jimbo's question: I have to give kudos to Scott on a recent sale of his EMT tires when he went non-runflats. He literally gave it away on this site! He could have gotten alot more for it 'over there' (or someone might have just snipe it and ebay it for profit).

BTW here's Jimbo's sandwich on ebay:

In ALL honesty...my stars were NOT to buy friends. They were just a donation to help with the sites expenses. I still truly don't have many friends over there cuz like Jim...I speak my mind!!! :tu:
I have found that offends some people in this life but I would rather have a guy that's totally upfront with me versus one that's dragging my character through the mud behind my back. :x :x :x

"Its not who you know, its who you blow"

By the way Jim...that's my line!!! :rll:

Sad part about it...this describes a good percentage of the employees at my current place of employment. :(

What kind of cheese on the sandwich? I may be interested?

I'll have an assortment of Prowler junk, crap, and stuff for sale in the coming months.

As in the past when I've sold several sets of front bumpers and a set of wheels,,,,,I'll offer it up at my asking price,,,, now at both sites. From now on,,,,,I'll give the items 48 hours to sell,,,,then going on eBay.

I've only been screwed by one person, when buying an item. That's pretty positive I'd say.

just my quarter's worth

************************************************** **********

BTW D/C'er,,,,,,what do you want out of the OEM cat cover? I could care less what color the cat logo is,,,,,,who gives a crap about that. I've never seen anyone walk around a car with a cover on it,,,,,,and wet their pants about the logo color on the material,,,lol. Not referring to you >>> Must be a European thing?

Thanks DC, but the tires weren't doing me any good. Plus, the tire place wanted to charge me the California disposal fee to throw 'em away (and, I'm sure they'd keep 'em and sell 'em as used). I know one of the guys "over there" was asking something like $600? for a set, and they never sold. What is the point of that? I'd spend $1200 on new before spending half of that for used.

I just wanted them to go to a good home. Unfortunately though, DC was the first to step up. DAMN!

As far as the guy wanting the Orange Cover . . . What an asshole. Forget the Elvis grilled cheese. I'm gonna post that I have a croissant for sale, then sell it to DC. That'll teach that smug little European bastard!
