View Full Version : Hardtop Group Purchase

I have been speaking to Nani-ann at TGF regarding the hardtops...
We can get 10% off if we order 6 units. headliners can be either black or gray.
here is the information she has sent me:
At this time lead time is 4-6 weeks.
If you could get 6 people together we could give everyone 10% off. The way these group orders work is we have to receive all orders before they are put into production. Shipping cost, duty, customs, etc..must be paid by the customer.
We would prefer selling these tops unpainted but if someone wants their top painted the cost is 3108.00. We also need the gas cap cover to match color. This still will not guarantee exact color match.
The price on the unpainted is $2641.00 less 10% = $2376.90
painted would be $3108.00 less 10% = $2797.20
I need to find out who is interested:
I'm in for one....5 more people needed to get the 10%
Scot,
Can you try to find out more regarding the chrome paint issue ?
I am thinking that a Chrome hardtop would look sharp.....

Yellow Freight just quoted me $163.10 for shipping the hardtop from TGF in California to Nova Scotia......
Now i just need the top chromed before it gets sent... 8)

Jim, I MIGHT MIGHT be interested in one. Since I need to get my trailer painted anyhow, hitting the hardtop wouldn't be that much extra work. Will the hardtop fit inside the trailer?
Have these prices gone down? they sound cheaper than we were quoted before on the other side ???

Jim, I'm in for an unpainted one. I e-mailed Steven Clark about it because he asked about the group purchase last month. Here is his response:
Actually,
I think my Dad just placed his order. Could probably talk TGF into
including it in the group order though as long as we had 4 other orders
ready to go.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. I know I'm going to buy one, but the timing is off a little. I seriously can't afford it until February or March of next year. Unfortunately, Property taxes just mailed out this week so I'm gonna be strapped 'till after Xmas. Argh!
On a brighter note, I drove to work today without breaking my foot . . . WTF!

I do forced savings for the taxes via escrow every month...lose a little bit on interests and other possible investments..but it helps since I travel alot and sometimes will miss the mail/payment date etc..
With prices of real estate in LaLa Land...that tax is a big chuck!

Interesting abt the gas cap..when we ordered it earlier this year, we got the painted Orange one....they matched it well without a need for the gas-cap. I guess we got lucky! ...am glad they are doing the gas-cap thingie now!
Another thing if they won't get more discount is to ask for the stand/cover. We got those free cuz of Norb.

If I could get the names of the all the people involved, that would be great. They can fax orders, e-mail or call me. Just have them refer to you and I will make sure they get the discount. I will not start process of orders until all orders are in and group buy is closed.

Hey Randy. Yeah, Bobby's doing the work. He does all my toys. He's finishing the suicide doors up and he wants to paint the car pearl white. I need to find a color that matches the one that was rendered by Dan P. on the other site. It's more of a creamy white pearl. Other than that, the stereo work just needs to be finished and I might get it back sometime next year.

Also ... LOVE the pearl-white. it's going to be like a Candy?

a quick update...
I have given my spot on the production list to another member who wants one very badly and is looking for a unpainted, black headliner top.
anyone interested in putting their name down for one to be ordered in March for delivery in April please post here and add their name...

I know how much you want a hardtop, Jim. That was a very admirable act on your part.
I'd be on board for the March/April timeframe. Count me in!
