Turkey Rod Run 2009

Regarding this year's 36th Annual Turkey Rod Run in Daytona Beach, FL...being held November 26-29.

A sign of the times... just how TOUGH EVERYTHING is regarding the economy and America's disposable income... this clearly represents the reality of the current situation.

Just received our invitation and entry form with the following notification... "The 1979 vehicle cut off has been lifted... If you have a special interest car that belongs in a car show, we welcome you".
This is a shock!!! It is quite clear this is an effort to increase this year's attendance... now the Prowlers will be allowed without the usual "special permission" needed in the past.

It certainly says something when they open up registration to all customs. The spring show told them a lot of what is happening with the economy when there were 4 times the number of car corral cars than there were show cars, and that show was open and has always been open to any year custom.

I'm sure they are looking at the bottom line and trying to maximize the amount they can generate without taking a chance on having a sub-par turnout compared to past shows. I would bet that they go back to pre-1980's next year (2010) though.

Anyone going from PT? The last time I checked the registration list I only found 4 Prowlers registered thus far.
