Received the SSS muffler last week from John! Was well packed and no dents to the muffler.
Spent the week looking for a good muffler shop.
It was not a task that I could do in the garage or of any competence to attempt!

Muffler Shop:

So based on the recommendations of a Porsche owner,
I decided to try out a local mufffler place:

Orange Grove Mufflers in Pasadena
(626) 796-8831
836 E Orange Grove Blvd
Pasadena, CA 91104
Ask for Kevin.

These guys are GREAT! Honest and no BS. I highly recommend them for any muffler/exhaust work.
Kevin quoted my $45 for all the work and that was all I paid for. Its excellent pricing for Los Angeles.
They also work on big trucks and compacts..so anyone how needs some work..go to them!

Installation:

As documented already, hammering and WD-40 were were required to get the stock muffler out.
The rubber bands holding the exhaust tips were so lame..I was embarressed!

Stock Muffler:

Pretty nasty looking and burnt out.
Decided to keep it to restore to stock if needed.

Oh Crap, Now I gotta go out and get one of those. Where does this all end!
Nice Mod DC, Sounds nice . . Can't wait until I hear it in person. And, what a deal on labor! I'll take mine there as soon as I find a muffler.

Anybody out there have one they are willing to part with?

Scott

Thanks guys...another step to not being able to sell the Black kat... :?

Dustis: Most important question is whether SkanKat likes it or not..its her daily driver now! She'll find out tomorrow :)

I like it alot..cuz its actually now possible to talk @ 70mph in the car without shouting, and yet still have a deep growl @ lower speeds.
And it does feel 'faster' too!

Scott: The SSS muffler is actually lighter than the stock one. Its a great mod.
Am glad I don't have to drive to Ontario for this..haha.. we should ask Sherman to bring his Borla..so we can have stock, borla and SSS comparisons -> great way to annoy the neighbors!
