Brenda had a Harley when we got married. It was a 1969 Sportsman 125cc. Just a little bike and I would like to find her another one since I am the one who sold it.

My first harley was a step through model (like a moped) with a 3 speed on the handle bar grip, love to find one of those. Had a couple of mini bikes before that. The circle drive way has many many laps on it.

We also had a Honda scooter in the 80's for a while. I think it was like 90cc's or something like that.

At the present time I own two Harleys.
2001 "Switchblade" which is a factory custom Dyna Low Rider. And a
2005 Ultra Classic which I intend to ride on my Route 66 trip next year.

If I bought a Harley,it would certainly be a V-Rod.
I've never been much of a cruiser type guy....it's sports bikes all the way.The exhiliration of a Yamaha R1 is unsurpassed....I think I'll keep it!

I agree you have a nice bike in that Yamaha and I would keep it as well. My Dyna is my bar hopper and the crusier is for my long trips. The Route 66 ride will be from Chicago to Santa Monica, Ca. Then up around Utah etc. My guess is that trip will be in the 5-6000 mile range. Need storage for a trip like that. Extra clothes, raingear, chaps, extra boots etc. Also, when you get into the 500 mile plus days you need the comfort. I'll be 69 this November. It's tough on this old body.

Totally agreed....I can't stand more than an hour or so and the old back just gives in.
Maybe my wife is right when she says......you have to mature to a Harley....In a few years!

By the way, the V-Rod is one hell of a bike. They just don't sell around here at all. Our group is nearly 200 strong and we have one gal that rides one. That's it. Harley makes the V-Rod up in Kansas City. That's only about 175 miles from here. I guess everyone around here just likes the old technology....and of course the sound of the air cooled motor.
