I did not realize geese exhibited this behavior. Numerious adult Canadian geese where in the area. But the young seemed to be gathered into groups by age and two adults where with each group guiding the young.

Not sure what kind of goose this is, but he seemed to be acting as guard goose for the whole group.

Not to bright, but surprizingly they all made it across the road safe and sound.

One of the other groups of young geese, there were at least two more groups of young.

I'll take 'em, and the big different one is a toulouse goose, a common domestic goose from europe:lol:

Is there an easy way to determine the difference between male and female toulouse goose?

usually its the large area under the tail, much larger on the goose than on the gander and tends to drag the ground on a goose, and the gander is always larger than the goose, also it's canada goose, canada geese, never canadian geese or goose(goose trivia:mrgreen:)

Have had duck before. Not quite like dark
meat chicken. Got plenty of Canadian geese
around where I work.

Brian, Are you sure this pic is from you area?
Because the mobile in the back ground looks just like sno's place.
Maybe you got this pic included with some others?

yup, have to admit it is from my area, was out taking pics of my new place when I saw the geese. They are supposed to deliver the new home this week.:biggrin::biggrin:
