IT DID!! Last June my wife and I were cruising up a highway when a couple of kids on crotch rockets zipped past us, passing across double yellow lines, and disappeared several cars ahead of us. About a half mile later we reached a curve in the road and found traffic stopping. Yep, one of the cyclists was now lying in the field. Being a paramedic, I stopped and went into the field to see how badly hurt he was. He had some broken bones but recovered. His bike, which was three HOURS old was totaled. BTW, this was his 3rd or 4th crash in a car or on a bike. State Trooper on scene knew him by name.
