Nope, not step by step instructions....we used those wonderfully documented pictures by Norm/Pat here:

After some touch-up paint (compliments of Sherman), SkanKat is happy with her new Big Tach!

I emailed Jay and he was gracious enough to agree to modify a tach for me. Unfortunately, he's still in the middle of moving, so it'll be a couple of months before he'll be ready to accept it from me. I'l go ahead and buy the tach from Jegs, then just sit on it until Jay is ready. Thanks for the info, Norm!

Got it off Zack when he sold his Black Prowler. I was surprised his buyer didn't want it.

Makes you wonder what they were thinking when they designed the car with a toy tach in it.
The first time I saw this tach was in Marty's Kat and LOVED it ........ (I think it was on the Hot Rod Power Tour) and just HAD to get it :biggrin:
And of course the 'customization' from Mr. Shimmers made it PURR-FECT ! :beer:

All of the mods are worthwhile for the fun factor. And I want more.

its easy to change the bulb to a different color.green is the closet color to stock.ordered mine from superbrightleds.com.5 mini leds.

yea,have had mine for about 2 yrs.bought it from the guy in fla,that did the original shimmers.he took it apart and redid wires,so it would plug into fact.plug.redid the pointer and outside so it looked like a fact.tach. and matched other guages.a tip,the big tach is a real tight fit between the dash and backside of steering wheel.you will have to adjust,otherwise wheel will rub on back of tach.theres about 1/16 th.clearence.if its rubbing you will feel it when you turn wheel.:-D
