Ladies and Gentlemen,
This is the official NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Shelby GT500 Super Snake 427Limited Edition Pace Car! This is one of only 427 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snakes in the world! This particular one was purchased new from a large Ford Dealership on March 28,2008 in Houston Texas. At the time of purchase it was a stock 540hp GT500 off the showroom floor. This amazing GT500 was then garaged at my home while awaiting a phone call from Shelby Automobiles to become one of only 1,000 2008 Shelby Super Snakes with 750 horsepower, and a lot of upgrades. On January 8, 2009 this unique Mustang was taken by transport from my home in Houston to Mr. Carroll Shelby's Facility in Las Vegas. The transformation to a Shelby Super Snake was finished just in time for the March 1, 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Shelby 427 Race weekend. My wife and I were notified a few weeks before the race that our Shelby 427 Super Snake was selected by drawing to be the official NASCAR Pace Car for Sunday's race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. What an honor, and what a thrill! The "Shelby Team" was terrific and treated us like VIP's all weekend. Plus we got to meet Mr. Shelby after he took a ride in our Mustang. Jimmy Spencer (the '98 winner at Las Vegas) conducted an interview for the Speed Channel while doing laps in our Shelby GT500 Super Snake 427 Limited Edition! This is the fist time ever a privately owned car has been used as a NASCAR Pace Car. This was also the first ever Shelby sponsored NASCAR event! Our beauty was the only one used for the interview with Mr. Shelby sitting in the passenger seat, and 2008 is the final year that Shelby is producing the Super Snake 427 Limited Edition Package. There were 11 caution flags on race day at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, so this GT500 saw plenty of action on the track.
This Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake 427 Limited Edition will be available for viewing and/or pick up after March 30, 2009. We are currently awaiting it return from Shelby's Facility in Las Vegas. It has all the decals, stickers and logos exactly as Shelby placed them for race day, including the light bar on the roof of the car. There is also an additional identical set of stickers included with the car for future touch-ups or to display. We also will include a free DVD of the race, a copy of the Speed Channel interview with Mr.Shelby riding in this 427 Super Snake. If it is not sold for our asking price now, it will remain untouched and garaged until we offer it through Barrett-Jackson in five to ten years for much more than we ask today.
