Please let me know if you have one of the chrome PT Cruiser folding luggage racks that mounts into the trailer hitch (similar to the way a weekender mounts) for sale. Thanks!

Oh, Here's a pic:

(Photo credit: This is a picture of a beautiful 2001 Kat that Kala of Ojai, California, has for sale. But, alas, she does not want to part with the luggage rack separately)

Since I "borrowed" her picture, the least I can do is promote her car! Kala can be reached through the other site. Here's the text of her ad:

I have a relatives 2001 Silver Plymouth Prowler For Sale. He wants to find it a new home, after moving out of So Cal.
Currently has 17,600 miles

I have service documents.
Window sticker and dealer add on sticker for $9995!
Factory test drive label.
Reliable carrier bill of lading from Conner Ave plant to Fillmore CA.
Color dealer flyer with the Prowler trailers on it.
Plymouth Prowler Infinity CD.
Chrysler Service contract says expires 1/23/2008 or 75,000 miles with a $100 deductible.
Dealer installed Lojack, I believe its $99 to transfer
Chrome Hitch and luggage rack.
Silver Air Patrol.
Front and rear mud flaps.
OEM Car cover.
Ball Joint recall done.

$36,500 OBO

Remember, this is not my car for sale, just looking for the rack. Kala is on the other site and can be found on page three of the classified ad page.
Thanks!

Completed a deal for the PT Cruiser rack this weekend. Now I have to call Larry Lord and figure out how to get a hitch installed behind the license plate of my Gary / Carlini rear pan.

Nice rack, though, really well built! (Hmm, I think I've said that before, but it wasn't in the context of car parts)

Well, it is essentially new. It was out of the box, but the owner had never used it. It looks perfect. I posted a free "WTB" ad on the PT Cruisers Owners Group website. The President of the So Cal chapter, Dee, responded and offered to sell me his. Ironically, he and I met at the Metalcrafters tour a couple of months back, but we never got to talking about the rack! Those PT Cruiser guys are great people. They really welcome us to their events with open arms.

Scott,

U mean the PT Cruiser Owners Club right? I checked with Randy (MoparPart) previously and he said these have been out of the Chrysler inventory for a long time. They probably will hold up value just like the trailers

Yeah DC, I did mean PT Cruiser Owners Group. I fixed my post. Thank you for pointing it out!

It is a cool rack and I've been looking for one for a while. I was thrilled to find one at all, and although Dee was aware of the rarity, he was extremely fair on the price. Not an opportunistic bone in his body . . . Really a decent guy.

Of course, I'm now trying to figure out how to make it work. If I modify my pan to have the hitch come out from behind my license plate, then the rack will sit up about 4 or 5 inches too high and I won't be able to open the trunk. I guess I can have a drop receiver made that comes out of the hitch or something. Just another challenge that I'll run by the good Larry Lord :-)
