Clear and Smoked Side Markers Installed! Pics GALORE

Allo Folks!

I know the clear side markers look good on a Black (and most colors), but not wanting to spend that much $$$ and also to have a 'different' look, what do you think of a smoked side markers? Those are easy to install (and alot cheaper!).

I personally think it might work on the black without looking to 'ricey'. Have anyone done it or seen it?

I was not aware there were smoke colored ones available in the same size as the Prowler ones.

Where can you get these? How much?

I think the smoke would look great on a purple.

Will look nice. I wonder if you had them air bushed smoked. That paint will wipe off if you don't clear coat it. At least you have an idea.We painted ours.

Thanks everyone! I think I will do it (I really have to stop doing these little mods to the car while planning to sell it). No paint or purchasing of new markers. I have decided to try an 'alternative' reversible method:

• 17 Mil. thick, strong, flexible, smoke protection films
• Will NOT crack, yellow, shrink or peel, washable/waxable
• Smoke 35%

Will be going to the autoshop in early Aug to test it out. Hope to have a couple of the local SoCal folks to go together and give opinions on the test results (Scott?).

Norm:Yep, I clearly remember ur side markers..those were nice! I was originally thinking of painting them black!

Kruisin Kat: Have u seen Sherman's imported side markers? Everyone asks about them at the car shows.

Hali:This shop I'll be using said they have done entire smoking of lights for a black Prowler before, but they never took pics of it! I'm gonna ask if they have the Kat owner's contact and if so, would like to take some pics of it. Its tempting to smoke all the lights..very tempting.

check them out......by the way they installed my Lambo Hinges also.

all said and done what did the lambo's cost including installation...the prices seem to be all over the place for both the hinges and the installation..

DC, you were serious about selling the prowler? that sucks.

For those wishing to do the Lambo, my advice would be to make sure you are VERY COMFORTABLE with who's doing it and that they've done it before and more than once. I couldn't be happier with mine (perfectly balanced and can be opened or closed with about 10 pounds of pressure), but I waited a year after buying my kit before I found someone I was comfortable with to do that major of a mod to my car.

Yep. Am selling the BLK PRWL...but ONLY if I get my asking price. It has been a blast having it as a daily driver, but the Meguairs' is making too much money off me keeping it detailed!

Lambo doors look creat! Jimbo, u should go for it! I've seen a black one here in SoCal..it convinced me and SkanKat the next prowler has to be black. Damn..we should start a new thread called MOD-WARS!!! It'll be fun for us mod-weaklings to see u mod-heavy weights 'slug it out'! :devil

Yeah, I got the clear lenses installed (almost more like white). They look nice, but when you see what they are made of, $200 seems a bit high to me. Oh well, think I'll up the price of the 3-D crystal prowlers I'm gonna sell to recoup the cost :)

Here is another one.We painted our headlight access covers. So we bought another set to put it back to stock whenever. I was amazed that they only run around $10 for both. Now if you want to buy those crazy screws they run around $15. :mrgreen:

Dustis: Can seem to get a good pic of it. Somehow, the smoked decal will throw a weird light back to the camera when zoomed close. I'll try again under bright sunlight this weekend.
