This Aptera concept vehicle looks like an amalgam of all kinds of vehicles. In the design, you can see a tricycle, a Plymouth Prowler, the glossy white of an iPod, and an EV-1.
The hybrid car can get up to 330 MPG, and if actually made, will be targeted at less than $20,000 and get a 0-60 time of around 11 seconds. They want to make this thing safe, but it looks kinda small and easy to be thrown around. Here's hoping this one gets to market.

This particular vehicle is a pre-production vehicle. It does not have opening windows, and the trunk is different. The trunk lid on this vehicle opens to the side (though they wouldn't open it to show), but the final vehicle opens the trunk lid at the top, more like a normal trunk.
They wouldn't answer many questions to which the answers weren't already available, but Steve did confirm that there will in fact be a gas-only model. The technician said the price would be $28,000-$40,000, "depending on option", but wouldn't say what any of the options would be. Test drives will be available to people on the waiting list "later". The first vehicles should be to the first people on the waiting list by October.http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3122/3237086367_594cbbd589_b.jpg

I kind of like the looks, although crash worthiness is a concern.

Crash worthiness was/is a concern with the Smart car, yet that thing will survive an impact when it's passengers will not at 70mph (meaning that the car will be fine but the impact will be too much force for whoever's inside, so they would be toast regardless of vehicle)
And hell yes I'd want one of those. It looks pretty cool.
