I agree with Krzy, $100 is kinda ridiculous. Forums, clubs etc are more of a hobby than a charity...contribute as you see fit (I tend to think I contribute content)...$$$ is NOT everything. I also try to click on the ad links and buy from the advertisers on this site.

I haven't donated money to that site yet because I can't figure out if I'm comfortable with the loudmouths yet. I did donate to David because I like the spirit of this board. Sometimes the hostility over there is incredible.

What's AC's connection to the board? Is he the host? I would think that if I went over there and posted similar comments, I'd be thrown out like Orange.

hali, exactly my point. Since I can't say anything good, I prefer to just stay away from the threads. My son is now back from Iraq and redeployed to South Korea. In defense of Rick, I see no reason why the trophy thread should have degenerated into an attack on him. I think it is great that he received the rewards and how he spends the $100 is nobody's business but his own. I did the trophy thing for many years, I just prefer to have fun now.

I pretty much agree with all above as well. It is POA that enabled me to find the people here on this site, what taught me what modding my car was all about, and the resources to do it. For that I definately appreciate it.
But what happened with the man that has to my knowledge done nothing but appreciate his car and his friends (heck he even helped me get my hands dirty and made me :) change my exhaust with his help and assistance at his shop) and want to have FUN FUN FUN ... for what happened with him, that truly upset me.

many years ago, a buddy of mine worked at a transmission plant....he was an inspector.....he marked the parts with a really dark blue ink, like old time price stampers in grocery stores....anyway, before he left on vacation one year, he painted all the black toilet seats in the plant with this blue ink.....2 weeks later when he came back, his foreman called him aside and warned him, many of the guys were still wearing large blue rings on their butt cheeks, and were looking to kick somebodys ass over the ordeal.....he was never truly able to appreciate the comedy of his feat due to fear for his health and safety.....still strikes me funny 20 years later....I always thought it bordered on the brilliant side... several hundred guys with blue butts looking for that one guy without a blue butt :D :lol: 8)

NO SHIT Jimbo, just sold the HardTop today to 'free' up some capital :lol:, painted plenum's are VEEERY nice, along with chromed suspension, Tom Mills Kit, New Wheels etc. etc. (here we go again :? )

Jim is it worth the nearly $500 to have the backup plenum? How much harm comes from taking the old one off or is it simply the non-use factor?

If it's the non-use factor, I have a proposal that I think that people will like quite a bit. How about after you do yours, if you then allow a swap out for say $50-$75-$100 whatever the price, and then it moves on to the next person so they can do theirs, and on again and again. That's what Carlini chrome front end does. I have been checking it out, it costs about $2500 for the front end in chrome, and then like $250 extra to use his core. When you get done with the down time and taking it apart and back together at same time, it makes a lot of sense I think. Then you could recoup your money. Also - maybe if you have a great airbrush guy that people like, you could even work a deal with him and get a little package deal working (I know I'd be interested, and bet you'd find another 10 minimum that would also)

I plan to keep the outside of my paintjob stock (well, maybe some airbrush on trailer deck), but under the hood, I'd love to get the plenum, battery cover panel, radiator brace all done in a nice theme.

thats a great idea,
really what value would a stock plenum have sitting in the shed collecting dust.... none.
My car gets put away November 1st until April 1st so its tough for me to do without the car at anytime during the summer. I have found a real rod speaker box that has some minor damage that i'm going to have repaired and airbrushed as well as the headlight assembly covers and the radiator cover. it would be a great time to have the plenum done as well then just switch all the parts in one afternoon. I should check with randy at moparpart.com and see what the rad cover is worth and maybe pickone of those up at the same time as the plenum.

I already bought a plenum (won it on ebay) and the stock one is going on the shelf with all the other stock items, I just can't part with the original pieces that I've removed.

I guess I like the fact that it could all be put back on and be all original again.
