miss Jenniffer likes it. And its even got Spanish in it if she feels like listening in Spanish instead. I think it also has the traffic option, but I think with all of these units, that is a subscription service. I wanted the 4" version I think called Nuvi770 or something like that, but but the price was about $700 for similar options, so I just couldn't justify the price differential.

Gonna use it this next week and will let you know if we find anything about it that we don't like.

An update on our Tom-Tom .... we found that the maps are not currently up to date (lot of construction in palm beach county over the past few years), so I assumed I just go to their website and download the latest maps. Umm... so far the answer appears to be NO !!!! You must PAY like $50 to get updated maps. I'm sure I'll be able to "FIND" them ... but you'd think when you pay for a product it should at least be current.

Nice, hey if anyone comes across a good deal on a flat screen monitor for my desk let me know. I have a space 18" high by 28" wide that I figure I can place a nice monitor where I can do more work and have more windows open at once. Needs to have VGA input and well RCA or TV coax would be good too. Seems like the 22" wide screens are the best bang for the buck. Anyone with any knowledge / input will be greatly appreciated.

I think the KDS is a better deal. Since it has HDCP which allows use of digitally protected video inputs. Just get a HDMI cable for use with any high defition source or cable/satellie/dvd box.

If youre looking to go budget on a digital camera you should consider a few things first. Printing your pics and posting them are 2 very different things. The eye needs about 300 dpi (dots or pixels per inch) to get the resolution of a photograph from a film shot. To print something at 8x10 size you need a camera with a resolution of 2400dpi x 3000dpi. That equates to a 7.2 megapixel camera minimum to print at that size. The other thing you need to consider is chip size. Most digital cameras have an APS size sensor which is quite a bit smaller than a 35mm film frame size sensor. At the present time the only manufacturer who produces a 35mm chip size or "full size" sensor is the Canon 1DS mark II 35mm pro digital at 17.1 megapixels. There are others that are close, but 7-8MP should be the minimum size for printing. If youre looking to make 4x6 prints and posts online, you need only 100dpi for web posting so just about any camera will make that. For lenses you cant go wrong with canon, but Nikon coolpix cameras are great. My wife uses an 8MP canon powershot and it works well for smaller prints. For larger prints we use a canon 1ds mark II or Hasselblad 39 megapixel medium format digital back, but it is cost prohibitive to buy, and it is rented for photo jobs. Just something to consider before you put down 200.00 for a camera that may not do what you want.

this is the unit we upgraded to. It is said to be the same as C550 except it uses MSN Direct for Traffic and has gas/weather information. If you don't need the features, you might want to consider other GPS units (or check with Sno)

So far we like it. The anti-glare in direct sunlight works...not as good as the monochrome Garmin i2 screen, but very readable.

Actually Jerry and I have just started to work hand and hand in the same retail location so we can better assist each other. The work-shop will still stay seperate but the retail front will be in the same building.... :tu:

We were going to do a full roll-out in Jan but it's hard to say no.... We will also be offering other services such as tint and in March we should be PORSCHE service ready as we will have a factory trained tech (13 year at the dealerships).

That is correct! I do that every year with all 3 agencies...its scary how some crap can get on your file and dealing with the agencies to get them fixed is a pain!

The Pentagon Federal Credit Union (www.penfed.org (http://slickdeals.net/?sdtid=1163097&u2=http://www.penfed.org)) is dropping their already low new car loan rate from 4.75% to 3.99% effective February 1st (heard on their hold music while waiting on hold when calling customer service). You get the rate in effect at the time the dealer deposits the loan so one can get pre-approved from today forward and get the 3.99% rate (it's still 4.75% on the website as of right now). If you are uncomfortable applying until the rate shows as changed on the website, check back after 2/1. I was in the process of applying when I was notified by a CSR of the changed rate.

You have to apply online and this rate is for both new and used cars up to 60 months (new cars can finance longer at this rate). Their credit standards are not outrageous, but you should have a better than average FICO score to apply (I suspect anything above 700 is likely to get approved instantly).

Anyone can join. If you don't qualify based on military service or membership in other organizations, you can choose to join the National Military Family Association (NMFA) for $20 for the year (you don't need to renew). I opted that direction more than a month ago and never heard back from this organization, so I'm not even out the $20.
