For those of you that have and use the prowler trailer a little friendly advice.

You should probably check the bolts that hold the latch in place. Might actually want to use some loctite!!!

Opened up the trailer when I got home sunday and started unloading the trailer when I noticed the latch laying on the bottom of the trailer. Luckily I did not lose anything, and the latch was in place when I left southern illinois. I always pull on the lid after I close it to insure it's latched and it held fine. Somewhere in the trip the nuts vibrated off and the bolts fell out. :eek2::eek2::mad::mad::mad:

Kat hunter, Call Larry Lord. this has been an issue since the trailers first came out. Larry has a kit that fixes the problem.

Good to bring this up as there are a lot of folks that are not aware of the problem.

My trailer latch came apart on the way to Louisville a few years ago. I have since installed the Larry Lord kit to solve the problem of the latch breaking off......this is not the same problem as loose nuts.

I've got Larry's kit on the trailer already. This is a completely separate issue.

Nothing failed on the trailer, the bolts just vibrated loose on the latch itself.
Larry's kit does not address the latch bolts. Some loctite will in the spring.

My kit insructions do address this issue as a cautionary issue. It's always been a problem.

OK, My mistake, I should have read your instructions better when I put the latch kit on Larry.:redface::redface:

I think I'll do both next time the trailer comes off of you stands.

Double nut and loctite. :tu::tu:
