Speeding man was drying wet car
AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Police confiscated the car and driver's license of a Dutchman caught speeding who said he only wanted to dry his car after he had washed it.
The 27-year-old was stopped in Amsterdam driving at 108 kph (68 mph), 50 kph over the speed limit, police said.
"Because he did not have his driver's license with him, his clean car was confiscated until he produces it," a police spokeswoman said.

Well, here's a good true one from "yours truly" that happened while I was in high school. Out with some friends at a party, had a couple girls in the car too (76' chevy monza with a 350). We picked up a case of beer and were going to my friends house where his parents were away (same neighborhood as mine). Well, we're going pretty good on this 2 lane road surrounded by pine trees and doing maybe 80-90. Then in the distance we see a car driving same direction we are. So I joke - should we blow him off the road? Everyone in the car ... Yeah Yeah - floor it. So I hit the gas and was doing about 120, when I got close enough to him to realize it was a police car. Well, if I didn't go around him, I would be in his back seat - so I hit the breaks for what I could, then as I was passing him (doing maybe 80) I just let off the brake to coast. It took him like 5 seconds to realize what was up - and we were like a quarter mile in front of him by the time he put on his lights. I had to pass the road I was supposed to turn on otherwise I would have had to lock up the brakes and was trying to be inconsipicous. Oh another thing - had the black louvered panels on the big hatchback window. So I get out of the car and go back to the officer and had my license with me. I had looked at my watch and realized it was about 12:10. So when he asked me where I was going in such a hurry, I told him "I'm sorry officer, I have a 12:00 curfew and my father's a very stern man" - LOL - I still remember those exact words. Then he asked me where I lived, and I couldn't say - back there on that road I just passed. So I told him the next road up, and he let me go. I mean if he looked in the car, there's 2 buddies and 2 girls, and a case of beer. LOL One hell of a true story though.

Great story! Glad it worked out for ya!
Friend of mine was driving up to Mammoth for a ski weekend in my car when he got caught..right smack from an opposite direction cop at the top of a 'hill'..radar detector could do no help....and the response he gave to the 'What's the hurry?'.... 'Skiing'
As expected..he was skiing with $240 lighted in his pocket...
